Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—used the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as important members in the powerful family could assist the group access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them few options but to head to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Questers and Schemers tables.
Audiences can look forward to learning which players will be in which group in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
